Now, the responsibilities that come with charge will be compensated in base pay within the Professional Advancement Model (PAM). Previously, some hospitals paid an additional amount per hour or a bonus to team members when they were performing the role of charge nurse. Employees assigned this role will no longer receive additional pay for time spent working as charge nurse. The responsibilities of charge will be considered and evaluated as part of nurses’ professional roles, development and advancement. Standard rates ensure that Call In pay is consistent across the System and competitive within our markets. However, you will not be entitled to an additional 4-hour guarantee.Ĭreating standard guidelines for Call In Guarantees ensures that you know what to expect no matter where or when you work within UMMS. If you are asked to return again during that same 4-hour guarantee timeframe, you will be paid for your hours worked at base pay rate plus shift differential if it applies.
